As your psychologist, I am committed to partnering with you to help you reach your athletic, personal, and/or professional life goals.
I will provide you with a “safe space” within which you can explore your current concern(s) or situation(s) & your response(s) to them, and learn ways to increase the likelihood of having outcomes that are more optimal than what you have been experiencing.
I am honored & humbled to talk to you and I am committed to have you be empowered and independent by the end of our session(s).
Throughout your therapy, I will encourage you to develop yourself emotionally, cognitively, physically, medically/nutritionally, educationally, vocationally, socially, athletically, and spiritually.
I respect and welcome people from all faith backgrounds & spiritual traditions and recognize the innate need within humans for “connectedness” and balance. So, within your therapy (if you so desire to verbalize it), I will seek to help you access those aspects of your particular faith/spiritual practices and/or its tenets that affirm, encourage, and support you and your progress towards your personal life goals.
I have experience collaborating with religious leaders from Christian, Jewish, and Islamic traditions in providing individual psychological services for their congregants. I have also served on a university-wide Religious Life Council and have conducted psychologically-based spirituality support groups for adults and young adults.
To be honest, the process of any kind of sport psychology services and/or clinical therapy will likely not be easy, but if you press through it and commit to consistent attendance & honest and open sharing, you will optimize the likelihood of your attaining life-enhancing and life-changing benefits.
